The MX Sport’s Motocross championship continued on to Southwick
after a weekend off. The legendary track once again showed
why it’s considered the toughest track on the circuit. It’s
rutted, sandy conditions, with its hard base gave riders a
fit as in every class, and gave everyone mixed results. In
the grand scheme of things, one championship was decided,
and another was brought closer together. From an RG3 standpoint,
it was a weekend of highs and lows. In the 250s, Matt rode
his race, and had a few stumbles here and there, leading to
a 33rd place finish. In the 450’s Steven Clarke and Bobby
Kiniry battled the stacked class and rough conditions getting
mixed results, such as Kiniry’s 10-21. In the WMX Class, the
track was exceptionally rough, after the 450 and 250 motos
were run. Sherri Cruse made a return to the series after missing
rounds due to injury. Heidi Cooke and Taylor Miller also made
the trip to Southwick after a weekend off from winning their
Canadian championships. All 3 riders rode to respectable finishes,
as it appeared just finishing the race, and finishing it safely
is considered an accomplishment. Hopefully, all the riders
can work towards better finishes next weekend at Steel City.
The MotoGP Championship was at Indianapolis Motor Speedway
this weekend, completing its second American round. In a rare
occurrence, an American (Ben Spies) took the pole for the
GP race. On raceday, track conditions were very hot, making
for a bumpy and slick surface, which riders complained about
throughout the weekend. Race winner, Dani Pedrosa started
on the second row, and by the 7th lap, passed Spies for the
lead, and checked out. Spies would not give up second, and
finished at a career high. Championship leader Jorge Lorenzo
kept a valuable points margin over Pedrosa with his 3rd place
finish. The bumpy track was a challenge to riders throughout
the race, leading to 4 DNFs which included Casey Stoner and
Colin Edwards. The MotoGP series moves onto the challenging
San Marino circuit next.
Lance Coury Gear Giveaway
|

RG3 Suspension is proud to announce the Lance Coury Gear
Giveaway. One lucky winner will win an autographed set of
pants and jersey from Oneal courtesy of Lance Coury. Check
Facebook for further details and on how to enter. Good Luck!
RG3's Lance Coury has had a bit of a rough go of if lately.
After Coury’s problematic experience at the Red Bull X-Fighters
in Egypt, the Southern California native was looking for vengeances
at X Games 16, which recently took place in Los Angeles. However,
a scary practice crash off a 115-foot double at his practice
facility a week prior to X Games left him with a dislocated
elbow and nine stitches to his eyelid. Now LC remains at home
and spending plenty of time in physical therapy so that we
can get back on the bike and start looking forward to the
2011 season.
Though Coury is rehabbing his elbow, we did find this very
cool piece that he filmed with the folks over at Cartoon Network.
It’s pretty cool to see Lance and the sport receiving outside
exposure like this. Check it out… http://www.youtube.com/

The 2010 season has proved to be a bitter/sweet one for Jennifer
Burton. Jay-Bee headed into Loretta’s with a perfect season,
winning
titles at World Mini’s, Oak Hill, Lake Whitney, and Ponca.
At Loretta’s,
Burton dominated the first moto and was looking like she was
on
her way to a championship at the ranch, however, a minor crash
in moto was all it took for a serious knee injury that put
her out of
championship contention. Burton has since had surgery to repair
her
knee and is looking at the month of December as her return
date to
the bike.
In case you’ve yet to see Burton’s skills, you can check
out this
Web video of Jay-Bee that we filmed shortly before she headed
to Ponca. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oe7XF7PjY7E
